JAMMU, Oct 15: Hundreds of Sikhs today staged protests and blocked Jammu-Pathankot national highway over the alleged desecration of holy book in Punjab.
Shouting slogans, various Sikh organisations, this morning assembled near Digiana Ashram on the city outskirts, Hatli Morh in Kathua district and blocked the highway.
The protesters condemned yesterday's incident of alleged desecration of holy book in Punjab and demanded probe.
They burnt tyres and blocked the road due to which traffic on the highway remained disrupted for hours. Meanwhile, the agitated Sikhs later dispersed and the vehicular movement resumed. |
