Jammu, Oct 15 : Ranvir Jamwal, an Indian Army Major, first person from Samba to climb the '5th Continental Summit' and brought pride to the state. What makes this son of the soil unique is his passion, the way he carries on every expedition taking care of health and safety, while sharing his extensive climbing experience along the way. Talking of his memorable summit ,he recalls "After hopping from one Airport to another & 48 hours of air journey( still on), 80 km of Adventurous Motorcycle journey,160 km of trekking with plastic boots through dense forests of Papua( just above Australian) and last 8 km with trekking shoes. The Summit , The CARSTENSZ PYRAMID, highest peak of Australia continent (politically part of Indonesia but geographically part of Austrilian continental shelf) on 9 Oct 2015 at 0800 was all worth it." This was Ranvir's 5th continental summit & 25th mountaineering expedition. He thanked all his well wishers for the blessings. |
