Harassed, insulted DDE Lecture to knock governor doors: JYF | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 19: Jammu Youth Forum alleging harassment at the hands of University administration, a couple of lecturers in the DDE are reportedly contemplating to make a representation to the Chancellor of University. Addressing the press-conference here today, President University Unit Deepak Kumar demanded the Chancellor and Pro-chancellor to personally intervene and look into the whole gamut of sorry state of affairs created by the wrong and vindictive policies of the present VC. He said that ever since Prof Ramji Dass Sharma has occupied the chair of VC, he has been functioning on the strength of negativity on all front. He said that a tug of war was unleashed by the University Authority harassment the DDE to give justification over justification with calculated move to tremendously delay the process of engaging contractual faculty thereby promoting the policy of abuse attitude coupled with strong likes and dislikes. He also said that the functioning of the DDE has been put to jeopardy by not providing them the requisite numbers of contractual faculty and the logistic support to run the undergraduate courses with the tacit intention to weaken the Director DDE. He further said that admission of students in B.A/B.Com for the session 2015-16 is over, about 6000 students have sought admission at undergraduate level till date. Because of scarcity of regular teaching staff, every year permanent faculty of DDE is beefed up by engaging contractual teachers to teach the undergraduate students. As per past practice, this year also an advertisement was issued by the University and eligible candidates submitted their applications for engagement as teacher on contractual basis, but interviews for the same were not held. |
