Com Secy Education enjoys Mantri's patronage | Remains untouched as Govt shuffles administration | |
Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Oct 19: With State Government not touching the Commissioner Secretary Education in administrative reshuffle today, the case of BJP has weakened as the Cabinet did not pay any heed to the protestlaunched by the Party against the functioning of senior bureaucrat in civil Secretariat. The BJP legislators as well as MoS Education have certain reservations about the Commissioner Secretary Education as they allege that he does not entertain the files and genuine cases put forth by the Party leaders and legislators. Even in transfer matters and appointments under companionate grounds the Jammu are ignored. It may be recalled that during recent Assembly Session in Srinagar BJP MLAs protested against the Commissioner Secretary Education and the issue was raised in the Lower House consecutively for two days. The Party was hopeful that the Government would take action against him and also shift him from Education Department to other department but the same did not happen. However sources said that the Commissioner cum Secretary Education enjoys the patronage of the Minister of Education, Naeem Akhtar who has given all powers to him with the result the former does not entertain anybody including the BJP as well as he dares to show teeth to MoS Education also. Sources said the BJP is a disgruntled lot at present as their protest inside the House and outside yielded no results. The BJP had pressed hard for shifting the Commissioner cum Secretary Education to any other Department and the Party was hopeful that during this administrative reshuffle the government would definitely do the needful, sources said, adding but much to their discomfiture the government did not bother to touch him. This action has made Commissioner cum Secretary Education more powerful sources said, adding the BJP views the action as a disgrace to it by the senior coalition partner and also an insult to coalition dharma. A senior Party leader on the condition of anonymity while commenting on today's administrative reshuffle said that they would take up theissue with party High Command as well. This way it will be difficult for the Party ministers to work and show results, he added. He said the Education Department is directly related to public and if the files pertaining to Jammu are put in dustbin or cold storage it will hit the Party's image in the region.
