Kissan Tehreek holds protest demonstration against coalition Govt | | | Early times report Kathua Oct 19: Expressing their resentment against the state government and District administration for being failed to provide the adequate procurement centres, Jammu and Kashmir Kissan Tehreek (JKKR) held a protest demonstration and blocked Kathua Kalibari road in front of DC Office here. According to press release, they warned both the district administration and coalition government that if their demands were not conceded soon they would launch a series of protest. All the protestors were chanting slogans against the state government as well as District administration. The protest was led by Kissan leaders Mohinder Singh and Banarsi Dass. Tehreek was demanding the opening of five procurement centres so that their paddy produce could be procured at genuine and justified rates. In contrary of our demands only three FCI operated procurement centres are opened with the coordination of CAPD and Agriculture Department but totally out of proper function and order due to which farmers are forced to face hardships. The leaders of the Tehreek also alleged that the inspector appointed by FCI is not timely available at the centre that also a main cause of harassment to the farmers. At the last, DC Kathua visited at the protest spot and pacified the farmers with an assurance to solve their issues on priority. After the assurance, the stranded traffic was resumed. |
