37 people rescued by police at Sinthan Top | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar Oct 17: Kishtwar police today rescued over three dozen passengers from Sinthan top after their vehicles trapped in snow storm during wee hours of Monday. As per the details available with "Early Times", Kishtwar police party led by SHO Chatroo Ravi Kumar under the supervision of SP Kishtwar Yougal Manhas launched a rescue operation in Sinthan top area of Kishtwar District bordering Anantnag District of Kashmir province and rescued 37 passengers including 7 kids, 17 male and 13 womens after their vehicles in which they were traveling from Srinagar to Kishtwar trapped at Sinthan top that has witnessed fresh snowfall last night and today early morning. When contacted SP Kishtwar Yougal Manhas confirmed the rescue of about 37 passengers from snow bound Sinthan top of the District, added that all the passengers rescued at the Sinthan top are safe and have reached their destination safely. Meanwhile MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori lauded the efforts of SHO Chatroo and other police officials for rescuing the people's stucked at Sinthan top and slammed the GREF officials for their failure to come to the rescue of the trapped passengers. He said that GREF being as the prime agency for taking care of Kishtwar-Sinthan road distances itself from the responsibilities assigned to them which gives bad name to the organization. |
