Jammu Oct 19: People of Jammu today bade a fond farewell to Sudershan Mahajan, popularly known as Nichu among his friends here on Monday. People from all walks of life, leaders from across the political spectrum, the captains of Industry and Commerce of Jammu had all come to pay their last respects before mortal remains were consigned to eternal flames. Prominent among those who were present at the funeral ceremony included Speaker J&K Assembly, Kavinder Gupta, the Divisional Commissioner Jammu Pawan Kotwal, Ashok Khajuria MLC, former Ministers including Prof ChamanLal Gupta, S S Salathia, Ajat Shatru Singh, Ajay Sadhotra, Shyam Lal and former MLC Micky.
Later on the day Later Former union Minister and Leader of Opposition Rajya Sabha Gulam Nabi Azad, along with other senior persons of the Congress also visited the residence of departed soul and condoled with the bereaved family.
Former Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah, accompanied by senior leaders of the National Conference, including Devinder Rana MLA, also visited the residence of late soul and offered their condolences.
The Uthala ceremony for Sh Sudarshan Mahajan will be held on Wednesday, October 21.
