Jammu, Oct 19: Family members of a middle aged female patient who died due to alleged negligence of doctors after allegedly being administered a wrong injection at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu today filed a written complaint in Police post in premises of GMC Hospital Jammu. A family friend of aggrieved family informed, Lakshmi wife of Bhem Singh resident of Nai Basti was undergoing medical treatment in GMC hospital Jammu for last three to four days and today afternoon, doctor on duty allegedly administered a wrong injection due to which the patient felt unconscious and after some time she breathed her last. The family members of deceased alleged that medico negligence which snatched their kin and demanded probe into the matter, so that the doctors responsible for medico negligence could be punished. "After getting information, police team led and hospital administration came to spot but instead of convincing the agitated family members, the Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr Uttam Singh provoked the aggrieved family members, "a relative of deceased alleged. Later, the family members filed written complaint against allegedly negligence of doctors at Police Post in premises of GMC & Hospital Jammu. Meanwhile taking cognizance in this matter, the hospital administration has constituted a board of doctors including senior faculty to conduct postmortem of the deceased and after getting the inputs from the autopsy report, the action will be taken if anyone found guilty. All attempts to contact Medical Superintendent of GMC& Hospital Jammu Dr Ravinder Rattan Paul to get his comment in this matter turned futile as he could not be contacted despite repeated attempts. |
