AJKCA organizes 44th chess championship

Jammu, Oct 21: All Jammu and Kashmir Association (AJKCA) organized 44th state chess championship here today.
According to press release, around 110 participants including 25 girls participated in the championship.
It was first time that about 30 players from Jammu division participated in this championship.
On this occasion, Khalid Amin Gojwari has been declared the J&K State Chess Champion 2015-16 after bagging 1st position in senior catagory, while Sumit Grower from Jammu bagged 2nd and Ajit Singh from Udhampur got 3rd place. Versha Rani bagged title in senior girl category. In junior category U19, Arushi Kotwal bagged first, Bismah Afshan and Sana Mukhtar achieved second and third position respectively. In junior boys, Soham Komatra got 1st position followed by Yawar Tariq and Mir Saqlain stood third. In U-17 Junior girls, Syed Mehvish got 1st position while Ritish Pathaniya bagged the title in boys category,Dhiren Sambal 2nd and Nikhal Gupta got 3rd position.Avni Gupta got the 1st position in U- 15 girl's category.
In U-15 boys Arsh Zaffer emerged as the winner while Mir Sahil Mustafa and Aasim Mustafa got second and third position respectively.
In Sub-Junior category U13 Mehroz Sajjad got the 1st Position & bagged the title while Ambika Fayaz and Amariayah Fayaz got 2nd & 3rd position.In U- 13 boys, Aakash Deep Singh got 1st position, Jaiveer Singh Gugral won 2nd position and Shiekh Ahmad Muqsit and Syed Fahad and Ritvik Nanda jointly remained at 3rd position. In U -9 girls category Anveksha Sharma bagged 1st position, while in boys U-9 category, Ayush Gupta, Mir Nazim and Fayaz Alam Banday achieved 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
In U-7 Girls category Ambroz Sajjad from Kashmir bagged the1st position while Areeba Shabir and Falak Fayaz remained at 2nd & 3rd respectively. Abdul Musavir bagged title in U-7 boys category.
