Suspended AVBP activists roam in JU campus | Top cop intervenes to revoke suspension | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 21: Presence of AVBP activists in University of Jammu, despite their suspension exposes dual yardsticks of the administration. Earlier, the administration gave no respite to a scholar despite court intervention on suspension of Jammu University Research Scholar Association (JURSA). Frustrated over suspension of ABVP activists by the University of Jammu, BJP leaders sought intervention of the senior police officers. "To get her entered into hostel, DIG Jammu met suspended ABVP activist Madhu Sharma from department of law and also convinced JU authority late last evening", sources claimed. Ridiculing intervention of the police to secure entry of ABVP's suspended activists, sources said it seems that BJP can go to any extent to oblige saffron brigade. It is relevant to mention here that administration of University Jammu had ordered suspension of three students, including a girl, who were allegedly leading the ABVP activists during the fierce protest and 'unlawful' assembly on the campus on October 13-14. "Two students from Law School Kanav Sharma and Deepak Gupta have relation with BJP leaders, under pressure from saffron brigade over the issue, BJP is doing its best to get revoked suspension of these students", they added. Terming the suspension as merely an eye wash, source alleged that the day when ABVP activists were suspended, are roaming in the campus. "In case of suspension of the JURSA members, an elected body in varsity, no relaxation was given to six scholars, who were suspended by administration for exposing malpractice in the University", they regretted and added that entry of JURSA members including chairperson and office bearers was banned for six months. |
