| ABVP holds protest, demands removal of VC JU | | |  early times report
Jammu, Oct 20: Continuing agitation for the removal of VC of Jammu University, Students of the University under the banner of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) held protests by sitting on dharna at main gate of Jammu University.
The three suspended students of university namely Kanav Sharma, Madhu Sharma and Deepak Gupta were there on Dharna.
ABVP Unit of Government Women College, Parade led by ABVP City Secretary Naina Dogra, also held a protest demonstration in support of these suspended students. Speaking on the occasion, Madhu Sharma said that she was thrown out forcibly from the hostel with all his belongings late night yesterday and accused by the administration.
Meanwhile, DIG Ashkoor Wani this afternoon called the suspended students and held a meeting with them where DSW, Registrar and Controller of JU were present there for representing University authorities and Rahul Dev Sharma, State Secretary ABVP, Varsha Jandiyal, State Girls Working Committee Incharge, State Joint Secretary Abhinav Pandotra were also there.
State Secretary Rahul Dev Sharma warned the authorities who were present in the meeting and asked for the inquiry of the VC RD Sharma and Physical Education Professor Dhyan Singh Bhau. "No inquiry should be held against these students and their suspension should be revoked soon, "he demanded. |
