NPSU stages protest against dilapidated condition of Jammu-Akhnoor road | | | early times report Jammu, Oct 21: National Panthers Student Union (NPSU) activists have lodged their strong protest against the dilapidated condition of Jammu-Akhnoor road which poses a grave threat to the commuters especially the students who travel in day to day basis for pursuing their higher education in Jammu. According to press release, the angry students warned to gherao the office of Chief Engineer R&B in case the repairs and macadamization of the shabby road was not undertaken immediately. While speaking to media persons, Thakur Varinder Singh, President NPSU projected the pitiable plight of the said road with several potholes and bumps which made the drive on the said route very risky. Expressing grave concern over the yesterday's matador accident in Ramnagar area due to shabby plight of the said road, he regretted that had the road been in good condition the tragic incident would not have occurred. Seeking early repairs and macadamization of roads in Jammu Division, as has been done in Kashmir, Thakur Virender Singh warned that any laxity in the matter would be forcefully agitated by the student community. |
