Protest demonstration over dilapidated road connectivity 10/21/2015 11:46:26 PM Early Times Report Udhampur, Oct 21: Local hailing from Chowki, Ghordi and adjoining areas today observed a shutdown today and stage demonstration against the administration for its failure to maintain road connectivity in their area. Led by Barat Bushan Sarpanch Gordi , the protestors alleged that the local administration has failed in maintaining the road connectivity to their area which is completely dilapidated and risky for the commuters travelling in the minibuses plying on worn-out roads. Sarpanch and other speakers said that the conditions of road leading to Ghordi, Chowki, Riti and Dalsar are so bad but the administration yet has not taken any initiative to make it for better like black toping of the said road stretch. They also said that many of vehicles held the overloading due to the shortage of the vehicles on this road which resulted into low frequency of the vehicles thus causing overloading. He also said that many of road mishaps in this area due to the bad conditions of the road and overloading like the live example of yesterday Dalsar Road Tragedy in which 14 person were killed and 17 others sustained injuries.
