MJR hails announcement of relief for POJK
11/8/2015 11:10:31 PM
early times report
Jammu, Nov 8: Movement for Justice for Refugees of POJK 1947 hailed the announcement of relief for POJK refugees of 1947 in the mega package of Rs 80,068 crores announced for the state.
According to press release, the NJR welcomed the relief package announced for POJK-1947 refugees and express gratitude to BJP &PDP alliance Govt. in the state and BJP at the centre who have felt the pains and sufferings of POJK refugees after lapse of about seven decades.
"But the amount earmarked for the relief of POJK refugees is too meagre and is not commensurate with the number of registered families and the recommendations made by the state Govt. and various committees including the Joint Parliamentary Committee", MJR said, adding that the package announced does not speak out about our other demands like reservation for wards of refugees in technical institutions in the country and the state, employment package and also registration of left out families.
We also request the state Govt. as well as centre to work out modalities for disbursement of relief so that as in the past package does not become simply an eye wash. Administration instead of ensuring smooth flow of dispersal of relief package may not create hazels for the aggrieved families. Our organization will come out with full comments as soon as details of relief package for POJK refugee is made public officially.
MJR requested the state Govt. to immediately call a meeting of refugee organizations and have detailed deliberation regarding the amount of relief to be paid per family and its smooth dispersal without any hazels or involvement of middle men and agents who usually become source of corruption.
