Jammu, Nov 8: Sports Officer Jammu, Rajan Sharma, who was attached by the J&K State Sports Council Secretariat on complaints of abusing a Cabinet Minister, has refuted that he was attached with the office of the Secretary.
In a communication to ET, Sharma has refuted that he was attached. He also denied that he had abused any minister, even though he admitted in a telephonic conversation with the ET correspondent that he was attached for abusing the Minister. Even the Secretary Sports Council Javed Shah and Administrative Officer of the Council Balbir Singh when contacted had confirmed that Sports officer had been attached, though they refused to confirm the reason behind the action.
The order of attachment of Rajan Sharma, issued by Administrative officer on November 6, 2015, which is in the possession of ET reads, "in the interest of the administration, Rajan Sharma, Sports officer Jammu is hereby attached to the office of the Secretary Sports Council till further duties with immediate effect". The copy of the order has been addressed to Private Secretary to the CM, Special secretary to Sports Minister, besides Rajan Sharma, record file and office order file.
Rajan Sharma, sports officer Jammu, who insists to be addressed as Divisional Sports Officer in his communication to ET maintained that he was never suspended on the complaint of a woman official, while as ET record divulge that the erring officer was suspended by the then sports Minister R S Chib for misbehaving with a lady official of the Sports Council. A government press note was issued by the directorate of Information to this effect on June 11, 2010 and carried by several dailies of the state besides ET. Further, Rajan Sharma has maintained that there has never been a lady KAS officer in the Council, whereas ET in its report never made any mention of a lady KAS officer of the Council. A verbal complaint against his conduct was made by a lady KAS officer who happened to visit M A Stadium in February 2015. The lady officer had reported the matter to a senior officer and a few members of the Council, who pacified the lady officer and apologized to her on his behalf.
Meanwhile in an interesting development, openly defying the order of his attachment, the erring officer called the meeting of the Coaches and Managers of the Council on Saturday, November 7, while the order of his attachment was issued the previous day. Secretary Sports Council when contacted admitted that to hold an official meeting during the period of attachment tantamount to defiance of orders. "I will inquire the matter" Secretary said. |
