Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 8 : A family of Gho-Manhasa, Nagrota, is living under constant threat and intimidation of the alleged land encroachers and has lost hope of justice from police.
Early Times is in a possession of a document which revealed that a complaint was lodged to the SSP Jammu by Harbans Lal, son of Tirth Sharma of Gho Manhasa, against Babu and Ghara, sons of Rattan Lal of the same village for allegedly encroaching upon his land. Harbans and his wife Sunita were also allegedly assaulted by Babu and Ghara. After the Pouni Chak police took no action on their complaint against the alleged accused, they approached the SSP. However, despite the SSP's instructions to take necessary action in the matter, Pouni Chak police post remained unmoved for "obvious" reasons.
While the accused were alleged to be roaming free, the victims were being called to the police post time and again and put to harassment.
Sources alleged that the mother of the alleged accused had threatened the victims of dire consequences if they ever came to vacate the encroached land.
