NSF alleges ineligible, inefficient faculty spoils future of Students, scholars | | | early times report Jammu, Nov 8: National Secular Forum (NSF) alleged that Central University of Jammu (CUJ) a 'prestigious' institute for Jammuites has become rehabilitation Centre for blue eyed, Ineligible and inefficient faculty. Addressing media persons, NSF District president Reshikesh Rana alleged that most of teaching staff are outsider and they are not taking care of the students as well as scholars enrolled in various courses being offered by the university. He said that it was learnt that in Temporary Academic Block of University nothing is being taught by the existing teaching faculties. "We are receiving complaints from student community that teachers at CUJ are not fulfilling their mandate (teaching).Except teaching they do everything", he said, adding that it would not be tolerated at any cost. He said that Jammuites had struggled a lot to get CU for Jammu, ironically, the outgone, vice chancellor, under influence his lieutenants, had spoiled future the university. "Appointments for teaching and non-teaching at CUJ, made blindly. Blue eyed persons were selected, even those who are not eligible, competent for the posts, they are serving", he regretted. There are few faculty members, appointed by their supervisors' ignoring deserving one. "We have details of few cases, where members of selection committees, constituted for appointment teaching staff, had showered job on their scholars, to get more information NSF shortly file RTIs ", he said. "We had already submitted a memorandum to VC Prof Ashok Aima, who assured us that dead-wood to not tolerated any more, but after lapse for two weeks almost, nothing has been done", he added. He further said that if the prevailing culture is not changed, they would initiate a full-fledged agitation. "We rely on the Vice Chancellor, and waiting for his response, agitation will also be initiated if cognizance by the administration is not taken", he asserted. "It is also learnt, some inefficient faculty members, who got selected tailoring norms, are harassing students", he said. He urged upon vice chancellor, Prof Ashok Aima to streamline, anarchy prevailing in the university, due wrong decision taken by his predecessor.
