Withdraw anti-Jammu, anti-India Agenda of Alliance: Jammu Lawyers' forum | | | early times report R S Pura, Nov 8: The Jammu Lawyers Forum (JLF), which is headed by Former President, J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, and Senior Advocate B S Slathia on Sunday organized second seminar on the PDP-BJP Agenda of Alliance to educate public opinion about its dangerous implications for the people of the State in general and Jammu province in particular, as also about its negative impact on the national cause in the separatist and militant-infested State. There was consensus that the Agenda of Alliance is a "sinister" document prepared to benefit Kashmir and help Pakistan and Kashmiri separatists to disintegrate India and enslave and eliminate the Minorities in the state, who constitute more than 40 per cent of the population. "We will not allow the BJP-led NDA Government at the centre and the PDP-BJP coalition Government in the State to create a Pakistan-like situation in Jammu and Kashmir" was the upshot of the whole resolve of the seminarians, which was endorsed in one voice by one and all present in the seminar. "After reading the Agenda of Alliance, I am seriously worried about the concerted move to defeat and puncture the democratic and secular processes in the State and unleash an era of further radicalisation of the entire State, especially Jammu Province, which is known for brotherhood and spirit of accommodation" said B S Slathia, and added that the "Agenda of Alliance is a divisive agenda formulated and adopted to benefit the radical forces in the Valley alone". He further regretted that the issues on which the BJP had sought and got mandate from the Jammu province have been sidelined by the party after coming into power in the state and claimed that the Refugees from Pakistan and refugees from Pakistan-Occupied- Kashmir (POK) have also been formally abandoned by the BJP while inking power-sharing formula with the PDP. Slathia regretted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday only focused on Kashmir and ignored the aspirations of the struggling people of Jammu province and did not dare to conclude his address with the slogan 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai'. Prof Hari Om, prominent opinion maker in Jammu said that the "Agenda of Alliance has crossed all constitutional limits and virtually declared Jammu and Kashmir not part of India. The very fact that the agenda has empowered the state government to facilitate a dialogue between India and Pakistan and between India and the separatists is clearly tantamount to conferring plenipotentiary powers on the state. PDP-BJP are almost visualizing J&K as a sovereign entity", he said and endorsed the suggestion of B S Slathia that agenda be withdrawn forth with to allay the fears of the very vast nationalist constituency in Jammu and Kashmir. The seminarians resolved to preserve the territorial integrity of Jammu province by defeating those who have been working overtime to trifurcate Jammu province into plains of Jammu, Chenab valley region and Pir Panjal region and establish theocratic "Greater Kashmir" and set the followers of one religion against the followers of another. The President of the Bar Association R S Pura Raj Kumar Thakyal Advocate along-with Advocates Ravinder Charak, Vice-President, Joginder Singh, M R Sangra, Raunoq Singh, S. Paramjeet Singh, Ajay Bharti, Ranjeet Singh, Chaman Lal, Sonika Gupta, Jyoti and Parveen Kesar and hundreds of concerned citizens drawn from all walks of life participated in the seminar. |
