JCMS pays rich tributes to Lala Hans Raj

Jammu, Nov 8: Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha (JCMS) organized a function at Mahajan Bhawan Shalamar Road Jammu in which paid tributes to Sher-e-Duggar Lala Hans Raj Mahajan, founder of Mahajan Sabha, on his 149th birth anniversary.
President of JCMS Vinod Gupta accompanied with the dignitaries sitting on the dais inaugurated the function by lighting the traditional lamp in the midst of highly pitched slogans befitting the occasion such as 'Lala Hans Raj Mahajan amar rehain' and 'bharat mata ki jai'.
The President of the Sabha in his welcome address extended warm welcome to all the members of the community present in the function. He highlighted the activities of the Sabha for providing valuable assistance to the needy persons of the Mahajan community through Lala Hans child and Woman Welfare Society Sabzi Mandi Jammu, Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan Charitable Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu, Mahajan Marriage Bureaus and the Administrative Wing for giving monthly pension to widows, financial assistance to handicaps, needy persons and poor students. He also disclosed to the audience that he successfully coordinated the joint efforts of many Sabhasl Societies in Jammu.
The function was presided over by Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta former Defence Minister of the Central Government. Kavinder Gupta Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly was the Chief Guest and Pawan Gupta Minister of State Finance of Jammu and Kashmir Government was the Guest of honour on the occasion whereas Rajesh Gupta (MLA Jammu East), Vibodh Gupta (MLC), Naresh Gupta (MLC), Kuldeep Gupta(Vice Chairman Paharhi Forum), Ved Mahajan (Ex. MLC), Rattan Lal Gupta (Ex. MLC) and Dr. Ghan Shyam Gupta( Principal Govt. Medical College Jammu) were the Special Guests. At the outset, all the guests who shared the dais, as a mark of honour were garlanded and decorated with traditional Dogri styled Kessari coloured turbans and given momentos by the senior members of the Mahajan Sabha.
