Jammu, Nov 8 : Career Abacus, a leading Abacus Teaching Institute organized State Level Competition for the students of Abacus in the Auditorium of M.N.K.G. Montessori School, 23 C/C, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu in which children from the age group of 5 to 13 years participated. The function started with the lighting of lamp by the Champion of Champions 2014, Shivansh Gautam of Army School, Kaluchak and Suhani Gupta of Presentation Convent. It was followed by the singing of National Anthem. Arvind Sharma, Director of Career Abacus informed that aim of this competition is to promote the learning of Abacus and mental arithmetic. Children are given a chance to compete among themselves and win prizes. Children were given 200 questions which were to be completed within a time frame of 8 minutes. Everyone present at the examination hall was amazed to see the speed and accuracy of little children who were from different schools and standards from K.G to 8th. The competition was conducted in different levels and age groups. Divya, Coordinator of the Institute explained the benefits of abacus to the audience and stressed upon the need to teach this skill to all the students in the age group of 5 to 13 years which improves the arithmetical skills, memory, listening skills, imagination, creativity, self reliance and above all self confidence of the students. Arvind Sharma, Director of the Institute thanked all the participants, parents and school management for cooperating and making the event successful. |
