POONCH, Nov 23: Hosts Shaheed Manjit Club lifted the title trophy in the Shaheed Manjit Singh Memorial Volleyball Tournament held at Government Degree College ground, here today. In the final, Manjit Club defeated fighting J&K Police 3-0 (26-24, 25-17, 25-14). Deputy Chairman Legislative Council, Jahangir Mir was chief guest, who gave away the winners and runners-up trophies. Commander 93 Brigade, SSP Poonch, JS Johar, patron, Volleyball Association of J&K, Raj Daluja, president, Sidharth Daluja and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Association, Kuldeep Magotra were guests of honour.
Family members of Shaheed DySP Manjit Singh were among other distinguished gathering present in the valedictory function. Speaking on the occasion, chief guest appreciated the efforts put in by Shaheed Manjit Singh Volleyball Club in promoting the game, especially in district Poonch. He lauded the role of chairman of the Club, Mohd Tariq and his team. |
