Katra chopper crash involved a couple wedded 5 days ago | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 23: A newly married couple from a Jammu city outskirts and a minor from New Delhi were among seven people who were charred to death when a private chopper of Himalayan Heli Services Private Limited Company carrying pilgrims crashed in the foothills of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi near New Bus Stand in Katra town of Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. The sky fall down for the family members of newly-wed couple from Gho Manhasa Jammu when the tragic news from the Katra chopper crash got telecast this afternoon especially when all the seven people aboard the Himalayan Heli Services helicopter which crashed this afternoon were identified . A pal of gloom loomed over the sleepy town in the city outskirts-the Gho Manhasa and villagers rushed to the house of bereaved family of Arjun Chib. "Arjun Chib along with his wife Vandana Chib accompanied with a family friend had gone to seek blessings of the holy Goddess, said a family friend outside the house which still have a visible marks of marriage celebrations but now have turned into appalling ambience. "Arjun Chib an Indian Air Forces employee and Vandana got married on November 18 and when news of the death of the newly-wed couple and their friend has switched the merriment into grief and sorrow, another local added. They also added that the couple was accompanied with one of their relatives identified namely as Mahesh, who also died in today's tragedy. Seven people including a lady pilot namely Sumitha, died in the crash when the chopper returning from the Sanjhi Chhat to Katra, crashed due to 'technical snag' in the foothills near New Bus Stand. |
