Beigh bends, accepts Mehbooba's elevation as CM | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 23: PDP MP and former deputy chief minister Muzaffar Hussain Beigh has agreed to the elevation of Mehbooba Mufti as Chief Minister. According to the PDP sources, Muzaffar Beigh who had been issuing critical statements about working of the PDP-BJP coalition government has finally decided to accept Mehbooba Mufti as the next CM. "Beigh has finally accepted the elevation of Mehbooba as the CM. He had been told in clear terms that dissent will not do any good to him and his critical statements will only make his presence more uncomfortable for him and its after this that he told the senior party leadership that he will be not giving any dissenting note from hence forth," said senior party leader. Beigh along with Tariq Hamid Karra had been highly critical of the coalition government after being not in power in the State. The two MPs were hoping for some adjustment in the Centre hoping that Mufti Sayeed from an alliance with the BJP at the Centre, but the CM didn't do it and this left them fumed as their chances in the State were already sealed by the CM. Sources said that Beigh, who doesn't have much clout in the party now has reportedly communicated to the Mufti Sayeed that if the party decides to make Mehbooba Sayeed as the next CM, he will not have any objection. However, it is Karra who still continues to give some sort of troubles to the party especially by his scheming with some party leaders but he too has been told in clear terms after Beigh had relented. "After the consent of Beigh to Mehbooba Mufti as the next CM, the Karra will also fall in line. It's just a matter of days when he will issue a positive statement about the working of the government, which will signify that he has also relented," said the sources. |
