GSTWA attends 2nd annual convention in HP | | | Early Times Report BHADERWAH, Nov 23: A team of All J&K Gaddi Sippi Tribes Welfare Association (GSTWA) attended 2nd annual convention of Gaddi Samudaey Vikas Samiti at Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. In this convention Speaker of Himachal Pradesh Legislative assembly Brij Bihari Lal Butel was the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, state president GSTWA Parveen Jaryal threw light on Chamba to Bhaderwah road widening issue and other various contemporary issues of Gaddi community in the states of J&K and Himachal and suggested their remedial measures. He said that Gaddi language is spoken by more than 35 lakh people in India must be included in 8th schedule of constitution of India. He also laid emphasis on conserving the rich tribal cultural heritage of Gaddi tribes as he feared that the culture of this tribe is under threat due to invasion of modern society. He lauded the efforts of Himachal Gaddi Vikas Samiti for organizing such mammoth interstate conventions which will definitely go a long way in making coordination between the community members across the states and also on preserving the identity and culture of the Gaddi tribes. |
