Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 23: In a PIL filed by J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, a high court division bench of Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Bansi Lal Bhat observed that as stated by bar association counsel that the May 1, 2015 court order giving direction to sanction Rs 4 cr for the construction of lawyers' chambers in the district court complex and Rs 50 lakh for parking area has not been complied with except for the release of Rs 2 cr for the construction of lawyers' chambers in and Rs 25 lakh for car parking.
Upon this, the counsel appearing for Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner sought some time to get instructions as to why the said amount is not being sanctioned.
The bench took serious note and observed that it is made clear that in case the order dated 01.05.2015 is not complied with, the chief secretary and financial commissioner (finance) have to appear in person for committing the contempt of court order of 01.05.2015 on the next date of hearing.
