GPC Kathua conducts industrial visit for students 11/24/2015 12:42:13 AM Early Times Report Kathua, Nov 23: Industrial visit was conducted for the 5th semester students of Mechanical Engineering Department and 3rd semester students of Instrumentation and Control by Government Polytechnic College Kathua to Ranjit Sagar Dam, Shahpur Kandi Punjab. Er. Narinder Pal Singh, AEE Mechanical division Ranjit Sagar Dam took the students to the different sections of the hydro power plant and gave detailed information about the turbines, its application, plant layout from head race to tail race. Er Rakesh Kumar, Project Manager briefed the budding engineers on the working of control room and Power house complex of the hydro power plant and various installed machines. The students got exposure and the first hand information regarding the working of Hydro Power Projects in real time. The students were also taken to the sightseeing places and beautiful scenic spots around the Thein dam. Also the students of 3rd semester Mechanical Engineering visited the Science Express Train at Samba Railway Station.
