Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 23: University of Jammu (JU) today confirmed their quarterfinals berth in the ongoing All India Vice Chancellor's T20 Cricket Tournament hosted by Gorkhpur University in Uttar Pradesh. With today's 58 runs win against Mumbai University, JU has won three out of the four league matches played so far thus confirmed the berth in the knock-out stages. Now, JU shall be playing against Jamila Milia Islamia University tomorrow for top position in group-C. Earlier, batting first, JU set a target of 130 runs losing all their wickets. Ameet Targotra remained top scorer with 32 runs while Niranjan Singh and Sumit Sharma contributed 24 and 23 runs respectively. Daud Iqbal added 12 runs to the total. From Mumbai University, Shrikant, Shushant and Kushal shared two wickets each. In reply, Mumbai University bowled out for just 61 runs in 15.2 overs, courtesy four wickets haul from Raj Kumar Bakshi. Sushant Kumar (15) and Attaullah (11) were only batsmen to touch the double figure mark. From JU, Raj Kumar clinched four wickets for 11 runs while Daud Iqbal took one. For his four wickets haul, Raj Kumar was obvious choice for the man of the match title. |
