NHM employees staged protest, demands regularization of services | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 7 : A large number of National Health Mission (NHM) employees from all over the state under the banner of All J&K NHM Employees Association on Monday held a peaceful protest at Exhibition Ground Press Club Jammu and were demanding regularization of their services. In this protest NHM Employees working under different NHM Schemes viz NHM, RBSK/IDSP/RNTCP/NPCB/NLEP/NVBDCP/NIDDCP from almost all Districts of the state participated and raised slogans regarding fulfillment of their genuine demands like regularization. Speaking on the occasion, spokesperson of the Association Faizan Ali Tramboo said that the aim of holding this peaceful protest is to inform Govt about their grievances which they have not conceded sofar, forcing NHM Employees to go for this protest. He further said that more than 8000 employees are working under NHM in Jammu and Kashmir and most of them have already crossed the age of upper limit due to which they are not in position to go for other job which has left their hope only on NHM. More ever he added that NHM is the only backbone of health care system so Govt should acknowledge them and regularize their services. The main demands which are highlighted during the protest were immediate regularization of all NHM Employees of J&K on the pattern of RET or SRO 255, Yearly enhancement of their salaries at 10% as per NHM Guideline, immediate release of rural incentives for paramedics, job security to all NHM Employees, maternity leave benefit for female NHM staff with release of their salary, timely salary, bringing all NHM employees under the ambit of new recruitment policy which was framed recently, equal pay for equal work, social security benefit, provident fund benefit and fixed salary for ASHAs. The protest was supported by President JK Medical Employees Federation Sushil Sudan, Gen Sec Vinod Sharma besides President All JK Low Paid Employees Federation Ab Majid Khan who also spoke on the occasion. The protestors urged upon the State Govt and State Health Ministry to look into the matter personally and framed a draft policy for regularization of all NHM Employees on the analogy of above mentioned demands at an earliest so that their future could be secured. |
