Kamaal says no to autonomy, predicts azadi for Kashmir
Party of secessionists
12/7/2015 11:58:50 PM
ET Report
Jammu, Dec 7: Out-of-job younger brother of out-of-power National Conference president Farooq Abdullah and uncle of Omar Abdullah, Mustafa Kamaal, who lost his security deposit in the Assembly election, doesn't endorse his party's demand seeking greater autonomy or a step short of complete independence from India. He also doesn't agree with them when they unwillingly, grudgingly and reluctantly say that the NC wants a solution to the "Kashmir problem" within India. He wants his brother and nephew to take a clear cut stand on India and Jammu and Kashmir and also wants them to treat New Delhi and Islamabad with equal measure of contempt. He hates both India and Pakistan and says independence of Kashmir is the only lasting solution to the problem.
And, the Jinnah in Kamaal doesn't make these statements in private; he makes such outrageous and despicable statements in public and in presence of his brother and nephew. He makes such statements because he knows that the custodians of the Indian State will not act against him and that Indian State is no more than banana republic where everyone is free to preach secessionism and go scot-free. For him, the Narendra Modi Government is no different and for obvious reasons.
That Kamaal doesn't make anti-India statements in private and that he takes the custodians of the Indian State for a ride could be seen from what he said in the presence of scores of NC leaders, including the NC's owners Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah, on the occasion of the 110th birthday celebrations of the founder of NC Sheikh Abdullah at his heavily guarded graveyard in Srinagar.
While talking to media persons on the sidelines of a function, separatist Mustafa Kamaal advocated separatism and asserted that "azadi" or freedom, is written in our destiny". "Neither India nor Pakistan have love for us. By heart, both of them (India and Pakistan) do not like us. The leadership of India does not consider us their own...and same is the case with Pakistan, they do not love us, that is why I think Allah has written azadi in our destiny and we will get it," he said.
Where was the police when Mustafa Kamaal said what he said? Where were the custodians of the Indian State when he uttered non-sense? And by the way, where is the "nationalist" BJP, which used to talk about India, Indian unity and its territorial integrity, Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, Ek Desh mein do vidhan, do pradhan and do nishan nahin challenege, nahin challenge, Pt Prem Nath Dogra, Deen Dayal Upadhayay opposed Article 370 and Article 35-A? After, the BJP is in power in the State. After all, the Modi Government, unlike the UPA Government, enjoys the support of more than 330 MPs in the Lok Sabha. Where are the authorities gone? What is it that they have been doing?
It is time to act and not sleep. The nation is watching. The angry nationalists in the State are also watching the political conduct of the BJP. They are seething with anger. The BJP will get decimated if it continued to conduct itself it has been conducting itself for more than a year now.
