Chrungoo, Agnishekhar tear into Shah, reiterate homeland demand
Sharpest attack on BJP

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 7: A day after Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah said the Kashmiri separatists were the guardians of the minorities and "to secure and safeguard their lives, honour and properties is our obligation", Panun Kashmir leaders Ajay Chrungoo and Agnishekhar came down heavily on the BJP-led Narendra Modi Government at the Centre and reiterated their demand that J&K had to be trifurcated into Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh State and create Union Territory of Panun Kashmir north and east of river Jhelum for the persecuted and hounded Kashmiri Hindus. They reiterated their demand during the seminar on BJP and its policies in J&K.
"We are the masters of our own destiny. We and people of Jammu and Ladakh together will decide our own fate and fate of the nation. We do not recognize any other factor. We as Indians are the only stakeholders in J&K," they declared.
Last Saturday, Shah, a Pakistani agent and communalist of communalists, like other Kashmiri separatists and some mainstream Kashmiri leaders, rejected the idea of setting up of separate colonies of the internally-displaced Kashmiri Hindus and said that if the displaced Kashmiri Hindus wished to return to Kashmir, they had to live in the localities they quit in 1990. "India is sowing the seeds of discord among various communities in J&K. The Kashmiri Pandits and Muslims need to foil such designs and uphold the communal harmony and brotherhood," he had, among other things, said.
The very next day, Panun Kashmir leaders tore into the BJP-led Union Government and made it loud and clear that they and other nationalists in the state will foil all the attempts of the BJP aimed at compromising the Indian position in J&K and driving further the state away from New Delhi.
Chairman of the PK Advisory Board MK Teng termed the political behaviour of BJP as a story of the continuous betrayal of the Indian political class and said People of Jammu province have not only the task of fighting the challenges of the Jihadi war but also to guard against the betrayal from the political class of India. "The political behavior of BJP is a story of the continuous betrayal of the Indian political class. Indian political class has although the freedom movement up to the present times shown an aversion to defend the civilisational and historical continuity of the nation of India. It has always chosen not to fight in the face of massive assaults by Muslim communal movements," he said, and added that the "BJP's abdication of the national struggle is the continuation of the attitude of abdication and compromise which the Congress leaders demonstrated after the demise of Tilak. "J&K is face to face with the possibility of a catastrophic intervention by the state of Pakistan and the forces of international Jihad. While the rest of the world is gradually rising, Indian political class which, includes BJP and Congress, has chosen to pull wool over their eyes," he lamented.
Agnishekher chose the occasion to draw the attention of the participants to the new dangerous resonance of the entire spectrum of separatist leadership in the state since the formation of PDP-BJP government in the state. "Look at the statements of the entire leadership of the separatists. Look at the statements of leaders of NC and PDP leaders. You will see a resonance amongst them. All of them seek India to retract from its present position. All of them aim to wreck the sovereignty of India on J&K. This new resonance is the new fillip separatism received after the publication of PDP-BJP Agenda of Alliance. BJP shelved its election manifesto to appease separatists. It took a hostile attitude towards Panun Kashmir to appease separatists. It pursued the same course on the return of Hindus of Kashmir as that of Congress and NC to make the separatist class happy," he said, adding that the BJP has chosen a course which is undermining the nationalist resistance against separatism in the state. "The apprehensions that some formula akin to Musharraf Plan is being worked out behind the curtain are growing. Situation can only be salvaged by reorganizing the state and creating Union territories of Panun Kashmir and Ladakh and the state of Jammu," he said.
The attack of Chrungoo on the BJP was no less scathing. Endorsing MK Teng and Agnishekhar, he warned of "a bigger betrayal". "Making of the PDP-BJP alliance is in itself a betrayal which has made further betrayals possible. If one reads Agenda of Alliance keenly one will discover that it has virtually given plenipotentiary powers to the State Government to negotiate settlement with Pakistan and the separatists," he said while elaborating his well-founded apprehension, and further charged BJP leaders with openly and publically recognizing Kashmiri Muslim sub-nationalism as a legitimate political expression.
"They (BJP ministers and leaders) after coming to power described anti-India, pro-Pak, pro-ISIS and Al-Qaeda expressions (in Kashmir) as publicity gimmicks. At a time when whole world has awakened to spread of radical Islam, BJP has chosen to underplay it in J&K," he lamented. "The BJP's policy on Hindus of Kashmir seeks their absorption into the Kashmiri milieu. What is Kashmiri milieu? It is Islamic milieu. BJP has ignored the cases of conversions which have taken place in Kashmir in recent past. Situation is really dangerous in the state. We all have to be vigilant. Reorganization of the state has become imperative now. Retrieving of situation in Kashmir will not be possible without Government Of India committing itself to create Union Territory of Panun Kashmir north and east of river Jhelum," he said.
What the PK leaders said was the sharpest ever attack on the BJP launched by any nationalist organization. But the question is: Will Prime Minister Narendra Modi deviate from the dangerous path he has been treading, particularly since September 2014? The answer seems to be a big NO. That the BJP, which has already compromised its ideology to come into power in J&K, expelled Prof Hari Om from the party on the charge that he opposed the BJP's policy towards J&K and its alliance with the PDP has only strengthened the belief that the BJP is out to cause an irreparable damage to the nation in J&K.
