Omar can't stay away from controversies! | Wants to know what transpired between Indo-Pak NSAs | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Dec 7: The former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and National Conference working president Omar Abdullah, whose party faced humiliating defeat in the 2014 Parliamentary and Assembly elections, is trying his best to remain in news by poking his nose into the matters which don't fall within his domain. A day after National Security Advisors of India and Pakistan met in Bangkok and discussed various issues Omar on Monday took to the twitter to know whether India was made to talk Kashmir. "If Pakistan was 'made to talk terror' was India also 'made to talk Kashmir' since Jammu and Kashmir had found no mention in Ufa," Omar wrote on the micro blogging site twitter. An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "Omar should understand that NSA level talks between India and Pakistan are a sensitive issue. Why should Government of India tell him what transpired between NSAs in Hongkong. As a MLA he should concentrate on his constituency Beerwah and stop talking about Kashmir and other problems. His constituency is underdeveloped and people living in many areas still yearn for basic amenities." Pertinently, In 2014 Omar had contested from two assembly constituencies, Sonawar and Beerwah. He faced defeat from Sonawar while he managed to win narrowly from Beerwah in central Kashmir. "Omar and his party have lost ground in Jammu and Kashmir and results of Parliamentary and assembly polls have proved it. He should introspect why his party failed miserably and what went wrong rather than asking controversial questions," the analyst added. He claimed that Omar by raking up Kashmir is trying to address the separatists and is talking in their language just to appease them. "Omar losing power has frustrated him. He wants to talk about Kashmir and other issues to address the separatists and is trying to prove that he endorses their view. If Omar is so much concerned about Kashmir he should give up his security and the privileges which he enjoys and join the separatist camp," he added. A Kashmir watcher said, "Omar raised controversial issues during his tenure. He didn't pay any heed towards the development of Jammu and Kashmir nor did he make any attempt to pull out Jammu and Kashmir out from the quagmire of uncertainty." He said that Omar should learn politics from his successor and the incumbent Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. "Mufti is leaving no stone unturned to project Jammu and Kashmir as the best tourist destination in the world and is putting in all his energy to put JK on the path of peace and prosperity," the Kashmir watcher added. |
