Ex-IGP still influencing police officers, manning transfers | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 7: A former Inspector General (IG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) is still manning transfers in police department as he recently managed transfer of an in-charge police post and a Station House Officer (SHO). According to sources, the influential ex-IGP influenced the officers to adjust an inspector as SHO in one of the police stations of the Jammu city. The said inspector was posted in the District Police Lines (DPL) after being shifted to Jammu district. "Before being adjusted as SHO, he was often seen in the house of the ex-IGP or driving his cars", said a source adding that with the blessing of powerful ex-IGP he managed his posting as SHO in one of the police stations of the city. Earlier, the SHO had also served in one of the police station of Jammu West Division. Meanwhile, the ex-IGP also managed cancellation of transfer of a PSI from Jammu district to Kathua district. The PSI who is serving as in-charge police post in one of the police posts of Jammu city he was transferred to Kathua district. "The PSI approached the ex-DIG who again influenced the officers and cancellation of the transfer order within hours", said a source adding that there are not only two instances in which politically well-connected ex-DIG was seen managing transfers and postings of police officer he was too found involved in settling the personal cases of his close friends. |
