Srinagar, Dec 7: In a major political development, the right wing Hindu organization, Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sang (RSS), is all set to start its operations in Kashmir valley shortly with its office at posh Rajbagh locality in the summer capital.
Sources in BJP told 'Early Times' that the step to launch RSS Rashtriya Muslim Morcha (RMM) was taken to strengthen the roots of 'Sangh Parivar' in Kashmir so that the parties like RSS could participate in political activities.
They said that the initiative to establish RSS Rashtiya Muslim Manch in Kashmir valley was taken by Indresh Kumar RSS National President with intentions to reach out to the people with message of 'impartiality'.
"You can see a notion has been given over the years that RSS is an anti Muslim organization which actually is far from the reality. RSS started its operations in Kashmir a year back and they wholeheartedly partaken in relief and rehabilitation works when devastating floods wrecked havoc in September last year," sources said.
Sources further revealed that over 15000 people in Kashmir have formally joined RSS since 2013 and the roll is expected to go up in near future.
"Their only motive is to serve people so that they could repose their faith in RSS, Indresh Kumar who is counted among tallest nationalist leaders in India has pledged to serve people of Kashmir, this is a social organization not political," sources claimed.
When asked whether RSS has any plans to contribute in state politics sources said "since PDP and BJP formed combine government in Jammu and Kashmir there is every possibility of this organization to even contest future elections in Kashmir valley"
They said that the active President of RSS Muslim Manch Nazir Ahmad Mir and two others had unsuccessfully contested 2008 Assembly elections on BJP ticket.
"RSS despite tagged with anti Muslim label, people of Kashmir have shown no reservations in joining this organization as the basic objective of Sangh Parivar is to spread message of equality and there is nothing wrong if the same contests elections in Kashmir," sources said.
They said RSS is active in Kashmir for the past one year and they did not even boast of their contribution in relief and rehabilitation works last year.
"We hardly bother about the reaction of Kashmiri politicians; they act like political comedians, they actually want to create a sense of hatred among people of Kashmir and always try to divide them on religious and political lines for their patty political gains," sources added.
