kathua, Dec 7: A team of Legal Metrology department Kathua headed by the Assistant controller, Legal Metrology, Ajay Kumar Verma and comprising Inspector Legal Metrology Kathua and Dayalachack, Vicky Sharma and Devi Lakhanpuria respectively conducted intensive checking of various Business establishment especially Gas Agencies, Sweet Shops, Bakery Shops, Confectionary shops, Provisional Store, Karayana shops, Vegetable seller at College Road Kathua, Hatli Morh, Hatli Road, Ramkot, Gujru Nagrota and adjoining Areas.
During Inspection approximately 32 establishments were inspected and 6 traders were booked for violation of various provisions of J&K Weights and Measures Enforcement (amendment) Act 2011 and Package Commodities Rules. Seven Challans were compounded and a penalty of Rs 17300 was imposed on the erring traders for violation of different provision of J&K Weights and Measures Enforcement (amendment) Act 2011 and Package Commodities Rules.
Beside this, to provide the services at the door steps of the traders, the LMD Kathua also installed re-verification and stamping Camp at Tehsil Nagri during the first week of current month. The LMD Kathua re-verified the 378 different types of weights and Measures and Weighing and Measuring Instruments of 60 different traders and realized amount of Rs 10474 as re-verification and stamping fee of weights and Measures and Weighing and Measuring Instruments. |
