PDD magistrate holds drive against power theft | | | Early Times Report sunderbani, Dec 7: In a bid to put check on illegal usage of power and power theft, the Magistrate Power Development Department (PDD) Pardeep Kumar Sandhu conducted drive against the illegal use of electric goods without electric meters and realized fine upto tune of Rs 13000/- from defaulters. A PDD official said, "During drive, the PDD Magistrate realized fine upto the tune of Rs 13000/- and also seized electric goods which were being used illegally especially the electric gadgets like heaters and electric rods which consume high voltage." Official added that Magistrate PDD asked the people to get meters installed as power on metered connections is less against being charged on flat rates i.e. against illegally connections. He also appealed the general public to cooperate with the department so as to bring streamlining within the department |
