JAMMU, Dec 7 : Organised by the Rakwal Taekwondo Club, in collaboration with District Jammu Taekwondo Association, the 10th Inter-School Taekwondo Championship held at Sprawling Buds School, Chinore in Bantalab, here.
Around 300 young boys and girls drawn from different educational institutions of the district took part in this two-day competition.
The BSF Primary School, Paloura bagged the overall trophy while hosts, Sprawling Buds School was runners-up. The CRPF Kids Club, Bantalab remained second runners-up. In the valedictory function of the event, Secretary North Zone Committee of Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF), Ram Khajuria was chief guest, who presented medals to the winners of various age and weight categories. Deputy Commandant of BSF (Sports), Ajit Singh Tanwar (NIS, Athletics) was guest of honour.
General secretary of the J&K Taekwnodo Association, DN Pangotra and Director, Apple Kids Pre-International School, Arti Sharma were special guests. Director Sprawling Buds School, Rahul Shrma was chairman organising committee while Gurinder Rakwal was organising secretary of the competition. Anuj Sharma was convener. The technical team was led by Atul Pangotra and other members of the team included Sanjay Kumar, Rajat Thakur, Arvind Kumar Satti, Rohit Sharma, Narinder Sharma, Nitish Anand, Vipan Sharma, Sourabh and Anil Singh Parihar.
