JKCA to develop mini Cricket Stadium in Bhaderwah | | | Bhadarwah, Dec 7 : Jammu Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) is establishing a mini sports stadium at Bhaderwah which will be equipped with latest high technology. Bhaderwah campus of Jammu University will sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Jammu Kashmir Cricket Association and will hand over its sports ground to JKCA within three months so that the construction work is started there as we are going to develop mini sports stadium at Bhaderwah campus where national level cricket matches can be held, said by JKCA Chairman Sheikh Mehboob Iqbal while addressing a press conference held at Bhaderwah .Sheikh Mehboob Iqbal informed that he inspected the site for proposed stadium in the beautiful location of Bhaderwah campus of Jammu University and some 300 kanals of land has been identified for the construction of cricket stadium and allied facilities. The J&K Cricket Association will develop mini sports stadium and construct the sports complex at the site where modern facilities will be available .JKCA Chairman further said that Govt. has flagged development and growth of sports as one of the important sectors and various measures have already been taken to provide required sports infrastructure across the state, he said adding that construction of indoor sports complex at Bhaderwah is also in the pipeline. The expected date for completion of the stadium is 2017 and the construction work will start in May next year which will have a capacity of 50,000 spectators, he said . In the first phase construction of north and south pavilion will be done and development of second phase will start with construction of east and west pavilion, he added. |
