Militants attack CRPF convoy in Anantnag, six jawans injured | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Dec 7: At least six CRPF jawans were injured when unidentified militants today opened fired on their convoy on Srinagar-Jammu national highway in south Kashmir's Anantnag district. Militants fired at a CRPF bus, which was part of a convoy on way to Jammu from Srinagar, near Green Tunnel at Samthan in Bijbehara, 50 kms from here, a police officer said. He said six CRPF jawans were injured in the attack. The injured have been shifted to a hospital in Anantnag, the officer said, adding the area has been cordoned off and a manhunt has been launched to nab the attackers. In New Delhi, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said the six injured CRPF jawans were out of danger. "I have spoken to DG CRPF. He apprised me that all are out of danger. A convoy of CRPF was moving from one place to another." At that time, some militants attacked them. "Six of the CRPF jawans were injured but all are out of danger," he told reporters. |
