BJP facing precarious situation on hoisting state flag | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 29: The state unit of the BJP is facing a precarious situation ever since the state High Court order mandating the hoisting of State Flag on the govt. offices particularly those housing the constitutional authorities as well as two flags on the vehicles of all such constitutional authorities has once again put them in the dock. On Tuesday when party vice President and Rajya Sabha MP,who is also incharge of J&K Affairs Avinash Rai Khanna arrived here to take stock of the working of the alliance govt and review party work he claimed before making public its response on the important matter the party machinery would study the order in detail. We will make public our response but only after carefully studying the recent High Court order, Khanna told reporters here at state guest house. In response to another question on whether BJP is succumbing to the pressure from the alliance partner PDP Khanna said we have not bent our knees before any one. We are standing on our knees and following our own agenda. He said the BJP formed an alliance govt on the basis of agenda of alliance with a special focus on implementing developmental agenda. he said BJP as a party does not require any certificate from any one. We are implementing our partys agenda of alliance and we are committed to follow our core ideology , he added. Interestingly, ever since the state High Court order has been passed the state unit of the BJP is flooded with questions over BJP's official response. It is so because BJP has always remained votary of one flag, one constitution and recent order has been seen a big blow to the party which is sharing power in alliance with the PDP in the state. Whether or not BJP would be able to convince the PDP leadership over contesting the High Court order in the Apex court remains to be seen in the coming days. |
