pulwama, Dec 29: Fresh High Court directive to hoist State flag on all official buildings and vehicles of Jammu and Kashmir has virtually punctured well known slogan "Ek Vidhan Ek Nishaan" of BJP, leaving the party red faced.
After compromising its position on Article 370, BJP leadership has to find out the middle ground now on it's well known slogan "Ek Vidhaan Ek Nishaan".
In its fresh directive the High court according to reports said that Jammu and Kashmir enjoins a special position in India and that Article 370 is permanent and can't be abrogated, repealed or amended and directed the State Government to hoist the State flag on all official buildings and vehicles of constitutional authorities.
By directing State Government to Hoist State flag on all official buildings and vehicles, the court in other terms turned down the much chanted slogan "Ek vidhaan Ek Nishaan" of BJP leadership.
BJP leadership including Prime Minister, Narendra Modi according to details available would leave no stone unturned to abrogate Article 370 and hoist national flag instead State flag on all official buildings and vehicles of Jammu and Kashmir before last year Parliamentary and Assembly elections if it comes to power at Centre and in the State.
From well-known Lalkar rally to small gatherings during campaigning for Parliamentary and Assembly elections in Jammu province, BJP leadership on many occasions was seen chanting "Ek Vidhaan Ek Nishaan" and selling abrogation of Article 370 among common masses.
On fresh High Court verdict BJP MLC from Kashmir Sofi Yousuf today told Early Times that "High court directive is understood but BJP leadership still craves for putting in practice slogans of his party like Ek Vidhaan Ek Nishaan in Jammu and Kashmir but since they are in power with PDP so party has to consider every angle before taking any decision."
While disposing a writ petition filed by one civilian Abdul Qayoom Khan, in his judgment Justice Hasnain Masoodi reportedly said that the State flag is one of the attributes of constitutional autonomy and State Government and all constitutional authorities shall adhere to and abide by mandate and spirit of Section 144 of constitution of Jammu and Kashmir, J&K Prevention of Insult to State Honour Act 1979.
"Such adherence, obviously, is to include hoisting of State flag on the buildings housing offices of constitutional authorities and on vehicles used by such authorities." The Judgement reads.
