MS Nazki Early Times Report Poonch, Dec 29: The inquiry committee, probing into the circumstances that had led to the Gulshan Kousar's death on December 8 last, has confirmed that a 'wrong' injection was given to the young woman. The team was constituted by Chief Medical Officer, Poonch, Dr Mumtaz Bhatti on the directions of Director Health services. Gulshan (28), wife of Alam Din of Chhajla, Mendhar, came to SDH, Mendhar, on December 8 last for the treatment of some minor ailment. She was examined by Dr Tejinder Kumar (physician) who advised her to take an antibiotic injection. She went to the nearby Majid Medical Hall where she was allegedly administered a wrong injection by shop helper Shahid, son of Karamat Hussain, which led to her death. The inquiry committee was constituted following protests by locals. While the chemist shop owner was lifted by police on the day of the woman's death and later released, the physician was not questioned, sources alleged. Dr Bhatti had constituted the inquiry committee on December 9 vide order No 2872/77. The team members included DHO, Poonch, Dr Mustafa Jaffri, BMO, Surankote, Dr Parvez Khan and ADC, Poonch. The team had submitted its report to the CMO, sources said. |
