Irked over scarcity of water agitated villagers lock 'Dug well'

Kathua, Dec 29: Irked over scarcity of water supply for last two months, the agitated villagers hailing from Soala Panchayat, near Hatli today staged protest demonstration outside the Tube well and also locked the water supply centre to register their protest.
While interacting to media, Naib-Sarpanch alleged on XEn PHE (Mech) to ignore their sufferings in absence of water. He said the water pump went defunct some two months ago and the pump was shifted to mechanical division for repair but the authorities till now have failed to reinstall which has affected the normal life of villagers. He also said members approached to concerned office but nobody heard their grievance patiently till date.
Another villager Raj Kumar said Dug Well is in worse condition without starters, motor and other important equipment that affects the working of tube well.
He said people today locked tube well office to express their resentment but their protest can get aggressive in days to come and people can block national highway in order to restore water supply.
Earlier Suresh Kumar, Ajay Sharma, Meena Kumari, Chanchala Devi and many others addressed the protestors demonstrating outside the water scheme.
