Government giving 'step motherly' treatment to exiled community JTC

Jammu, Dec 29: Jagti Tenement Committee Jagti was held here today under the Chairmanship of Sh. Shadi Lal Pandita, President, Jagti Tenement Committee/Soan Kashmir Front, J&K in which office bearers and members of the committee participated and discussed various issues and problems being faced by the Kashmiri Pandit migrant community
Speaking in the meeting Shadi Lal Pandita said that since the Government is giving a step motherly treatment to this community as such this community has been left with no other alternative but to start series of agitations and rallies against the Government and the consequences thereof will be of the government.
Raj Kumar Tickoo Convenor and Sunil Koul General Secretary while addressing the participants have said that since the prices of all essential commodities have been hiked invariably as such the migrants living on relief assistance are unable to meet their day to day domestic needs with meager relief assistance.
Members also demanded enhancing the cash assistance relief to the tune of Rs 25,000/- per family per month enabling the relief holders to manage their domestic needs.
Other demands highlighted during the meeting included on the spot police recruitment drive (rally) in Jagti Migrant camp for affording opportunity to the migrant youth for their absorption in Police department, migrants whose properties were set ablaze after migration shall be compensated @ Rs 1.00 lakh, Rehabilitation of the Kashmiri Pandit migrant community in a satellite township in Kashmir, one time settlement compensation of Rs 52.00 lakh to each and every migrant family for the losses suffered by them during past 26 years of migration.
Apart from these speakers demanded filling of remaining 4000 posts under PM'S employment package and announcing one thousand additional posts, Compensation to those youths of the community who have crossed the overage limits, Lack of transport facilities unhygienic and dilapidated condition of residential quarters lack of proper road, Repair of Road from Kandoli to Jagti Camp, Issuance of RBA Certificates and etc
Prominent among others who were present in the meeting were Brij Nath Thusoo, Ram Ji Pandita, Shuban Ji Raina, Ved Lal Pandita, Vinod Bhat, M L Akhoon, M L Pandita, Hari Krishan, Kashi Nath Bhat, Piaray Lal Kanth, S L Kar, Rattan Lal Bhat, Gopi Nath Shah, Ramesh Bhat and others.
