JAMMU, Dec 29 : The state volleyball (men and women) teams today left for participation in the 64th Senior National Volleyball Championship to be held at Bengaluru in Karnataka) from January two to January 10. Prior to their participation, the selected probable underwent a 21-day coaching camp, organised by J&K State Sports Council at MA Stadium, here. The teams also underwent screening that took place guidance of Joint Secretary of Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma. Naresh Kumar, Azhar Aziz, Akbar Ali and Rimpy Khajuria accompanied the teams as coaches and managers. J&K men team has been placed in group-C with West Bengal, Pondicherry and Maharashtra while women spikers shall take on their opponents in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Uttrakhand in pool-D.

MEN : Majid Hussain (Anantnag), Imtiaz Ahmed, Rajinder Pal Singh), Sher Singh, Tamoor Ahmed (all JKP), Anil Singh Bakhtawar Singh (both 157 Sikh TA), Sunil Singh ( Pindi), Anupa (Samba) and Showkat Ahmed (Kulgam).
WOMEN : Insha Bashir, Sahrish Bhat, Sahrish Bhat, Nahida Yousuf (all Srinagar), Rohani Devi, Reemika Jamwal, Seema Devi, Pooja (all Samba), Shivali Dogra, Priyanka Bagal, Bhawana Sharma (all Jammu). |
