Early Times Report jammu, Dec 29: Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association submits memorandum to Prime Minister's Office for appropriate attention to redress their long pending demands. Earlier, the Governor House had forwarded Association's memorandum to Chief Minister's Secretariat. This was appraised in a meeting by the president of association, who stated that the association has submitted that a huge segment of Batwal population putting up in urban, rural and hilly areas of theState of J&K is educationally, economically and socially is most backward and as such, strongly urged the Union Government to take immediate steps for its social and economic upliftment. In January, 1994, the Govt. of India with an aim to ameliorate the living standard of the Batwal Community members launched a study to assess their socio, economic and cultural life in the J&K State. The Association members unanimously passed a resolution to appeal the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to issue directives to the Planning Commission to implement the Survey Report at its earliest convenience. Besides, the Association hailed the Action Plan on 'Start-up India' to be unveiled on January 16 by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. |
