Early Times Report

Rajouri, Mar 5: An employee of Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution (CAPD) under suspicious circumstances today tried to jump out of the window of the office of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Rajouri after he reportedly was denied leave.
As per sources, the incident took place this afternoon when employee identified as Inderjit Singh made futile bid to jump out of a window but fortunately he was saved by the other employees present on the spot who immediately shifted injured to District Hospital (DH) Rajouri. The condition of injured employee was stated to be stable however he got some stitches on his head.
Sources said, Inderjit Singh was sent to Rajouri from Jammu by the CAPD officials to help the administration in correcting the list of the beneficiaries.
"As many discrepancies were found in the provisional lists issued by the CAPD Rajouri branch, all the employees were asked to attend their duties even during Sunday and Monday (also holiday).
"Inderjit wanted to go to Jammu during holidays and he pleaded before Mohd Saleem Ali, ADC but his request was turned down" said sources.
"I felt humiliated by the officer in the presence of other employees which embarrassed me a lot and in a fit of rage I jumped out of the window and in this process. I received injuries and was saved by the employees present on the spot," said injured Inderjit Singh being hospitalized at DH Rajouri.
Meanwhile ADC Rajoiuri said, "Inderjit was sent to Rajouri to rectify the discrepancies in the lists of the beneficiaries under National Food Security Act (NFSA).
"He was demanding leave to go to Jammu during holidays but he was asked to remain on duty to complete the lists which were subjected to be submitted in the stipulated time period" he added.
"When his repeated requests were refused he (Inderjit Singh) in a fit of rage and perhaps pressurized due to some domestic problems made a futile bid to jump out of the window," ADC Rajouri said.
