BJP may announce CBMs soon | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 5: The BJP may announce a slew of Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) hinted by the PDP president Mehbooba Mufti shortly probably after the Parliament session. According to sources, the central leadership of the BJP is considering the CBMs they may announce probably on account of two considerations. The CBMs, which Mehbooba had hinted, to 'ease' an atmosphere in the State would help it in not only getting the government in the Jammu and Kashmir but also help it to 'blunt' the criticisim it is getting all round , though to an extent manufactured, that BJP is not sensitive to the 'minorities' and also that it's going high on 'ultra-nationalism'. "The Central government may make an announcement that it will have full faith in the leadership of the Mehbooba Mufti and also that it will take her proposals on every thing very seriously and will also eventually lead it to the logical conclusion," said a senior BJP leader. The framing of the statement underlying that 'accepting' proposals or suggestions of PDP president Mehbooba Mufti would send a clear message that it's accomodative to the 'Muslim' concerns. "It will blunt the manufactured dissent that BJP doesn't want any thing to be said about the concerns of the Muslims and also take away the debate from the JNU episode to the accommodative approach of the BJP' said the leader. This accommodative approach of the party will help it in getting political advantage in the crucial state of Uttar Pradesh where the party is getting tough fight from the regional parties and also on account of the fact that Congress has hired a consultant who had already worked with the party. "The party's strategy now is that while it send the message that is sensitive to the aspirations of the Muslims, who form a sizeable population in the UP, and also that it wants development of all and also will make it clear that it will not do appeasement of any kind. the tripple set of strategy will work in J&K also where it’s needed most to change the narrative for better," said the leader. |
