Pakistan relishes kidding, teasing Indian security forces
3/6/2016 12:26:49 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 5: If Pakistan has any policy on India it is,at time, indulging in kidding and on other occasions resorting to teasing and testing the patience of security forces deployed on the LoC and on the IB in Jammu and Kashmir. After each kidding incident and following each teasing exercise Islamabad talks about the need for promoting cordial ties with New Delhi which the former believes is possible through sustained dialogue.
How can India accept Pakistan's repeated pleas for promoting peace when its Army and the Rangers remain engaged in carrying out one mischief or the other. The other day fourth tunnel was detected on the International Border (IB) in R.S.Pura sector has forced the BSF,which guards the IB,to review the entire security scenario on the border. In fact by chance the BSF soldiers, removing tall grass from the IB segment, detected a 50-metre long tunnel which had been dug by state and non-state actors in Pakistan for the purpose of helping groups of militants in sneaking into the Jammu region. It is in this connection that senior functionaries of the BSF landed in R.S.Pura sector to review the entire security scenario and these functionaries also discussed measures that were needed to prevent Pakistan Rangers from repeating the tunnel digging exercise in future.A patrol party of the Border Security Force (BSF) had on Thursday discovered a 50-metre long tunnel at AMK (Allah Mai Kothay) area in R.S. Pura sector.
The underground tunnel was 50-metre long with the other end leading into the Pakistan side of the international border, reports said.
The height of the tunnel was three to four feet which could easily allow militants to cross into the Jammu sector.after crawling through the tunnel. The objective of the tunnel had been to facilitate infiltration into the state from across the border. The BSF jawans have filled up the tunnel on this side of the IB which would not allow militants to enter into the Indian territory and side by side lodged a strong protest with Pakistan Rangers. The protest had to be lodged with the Pakistan Rangers who are deployed on the entire IB and without the assistance of men of the Rangers digging tunnel would have not been possible.
And if India has asked the Rangers to join a probe that has been ordered into the tunnel digging exercise it is but natural because the Indian security officials believe that Pakistan trained militants were getting ready for a major terrorist strike in Jammu and Kashmir. And for that very purpose the tunnel had been dug because after the border management by the Indian security forces had been upgraded it was not easy for militants to infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir.
Secondly, agencies across the border feel upset over the drop in the level of militancy related violence in Jammu and Kashmir, especially in the region of Jammu. Hence these agencies want to devise new schemes for facilitating groups of militants in crossing into Jammu and Kashmir so that the level of violence was enhanced allowing Pakistan an opportunity for seeking international mediation or intervention for resolving the Kashmir issue.
