Jammu, Mar 5 : Principal Sessions Judge, Udhampur, R S Jain today awarded three years rigorous imprisonment to an accused for assaulting a man and breaking his bones. According to police case, Vidya Sagar had restrained Hans Raj and then repeatedly hit him with an iron pipe, breaking his bones. The judge said the accused was sentenced to imprisonment for 6 months and pay a fine of Rs 500 under section 341 of RPC. In default of paying the fine, he would further undergo imprisonment for one month. He was imprisoned for one year and pay a fine of Rs 1000 under section 323 of RPC. In default of making the payment of fine, he would further undergo imprisonment for two months. He said the accused would undergo rigorous imprisonment for three years and pay a fine of Rs 2000 under section 325 of RPC. In default of making the payment of fine, he would further undergo an imprisonment for six months. All the sentences would run concurrently, he ordered. --(JNF) |
