JAMMU, Mar 8: S. P. Vaid took over the charge of Director General of Police, Prisons, from S. K. Mishra today. Vaid has served the State in different capacities which include SSP Budgam & Udhampur, DIG Jammu Range, DIG Central Kashmir Range, DIG North Kashmir Baramulla, DIG (Adm) PHQ, IGP (Modernization PHQ), IGP Jammu Zone, IGP Crime, J&K. He also served in Government of India for about three years as Director (Training/Administration) BPR&D, MHA. He has also been Additional DGP (HQ) and served for four years and three months since November 2011. He has also undergone various trainings with LAPD &FBI Los Angeles (USA) and UK Police, Bramshill and MCTP, New York. On his joining, a guard of honour was presented to him by the J&K Prison Personnel. In a meeting held today in his office chambers he emphasized on building a vibrant and transparent organization and said that reformation and rehabilitation of prisoners shall be the focus besides infrastructure development and augmentation of security. |
